The editors of the American Heritage dictionaries have compiled a list of 100 words they recommend every high school graduate should know.”The words we suggest,” says senior editor Steven Kleinedler, “are not meant to be exhaustive but are a benchmark against which graduates and their parents can measure themselves. Was Ahmadinejad a good student?

I enjoyed looking at these photos showing Ahmadinejad respecting his 1st grade (44 years ago) teacher. I thought of sharing it with you, specially the Iranian visitors.

After seeing these pictures I searched on the Internet to see whether he was good student or not. The results are interesting.

In 1976, Ahmadinejad took Iran’s national university entrance exams (konkoor) to gain admission into Iran’s top universities. His test score ranked him 132nd in the country, which is impressive. The test landed him at the prestigious “Iran University of Science and Technology” (IUST or Elm-o San’at) as an undergraduate student of civil engineering. On completion on his UG degree he entered the Master of Science programme for civil engineering. In 1989, he became a member of the Science faculty at the university where he had studied. In 1997, he received his PhD in transportation engineering and planning from the Science and Technology University.

I don’t think he had any Politics and Economics modules during his courses as an Engineering student.

However, I think he has done an excellent job as a student. But as a president; I’m not sure …
